Monday

Today was kind of boring. We played a lot, and Milo spent some time exploring, as usual. She tried to get to the radiator again by crawling over all the stuff we have in front of it, so I barricaded it a bit more to keep her away. She also crawled out of the living room into the entry way, so we’re going to need to get some latches on the doors very soon. (We put an adhesive-backed latch on the closet door, but when we pried it off, it took a big chunk of paint with it. So we’re rethinking our strategy.)

At lunch, Milo tried a new baby food (from the store because I forgot to defrost any homemade purees), which had kale, sweet corn, and quinoa. She liked it ok, but she wasn’t super excited about it.

In the afternoon, we went out to get groceries, and I put Milo’s pink hat on her for the outing. She looked adorable, and she didn’t try to take it off even once. Also, while we were walking, she got very excited about a group of strangers walking behind us. She was front-facing in the ergo, so she was trying like crazy to turn around and look at them. As they passed us, she laughed and squealed with delight as they talked to her. It was something to see!

I got a little ambitious with dinner tonight because we’re trying to use up some sun dried tomato pesto we bought a while back. So dinner was stuffed chicken breasts, which involved pounding them out, using the food processor to make the mixture, stuffing the breasts and securing them with toothpicks, then breading them and baking them.

It was involved, and Milo was not easy to deal with during that time. I let her play on the floor in the kitchen while I cooked, and she was fine much of the time. She got all of the paper bags out and scattered them around, which was fine as long as she didn’t try to eat them. But then she got into the cat food, which meant I had to put her in the travel crib to keep her safe while I cooked. She wasn’t happy about that. But Chase got home just in time to keep her company!

The food was pretty good, and we ordered some dessert from Doughbies, which was delivered pretty quickly. I love having the ability to get dessert delivered within 30 min. I’m going to miss that.
