Late Sleepers
misty · Wed, Mar 16, 2016Milo woke up at 8 am today, and Chase and I didn’t know what to do with ourselves. So we just stayed in bed a little longer and enjoyed that time together.
For some reason, Milo refused to nap today; every time I tried to put her down, she just woke right up and started crying. So I put her in the crib with loud white noise. She cried for about 1-2 minutes and then was out cold. She slept nearly 2 hours in there, and it was the same for her second nap. My girl is getting better at napping, I guess. And I’m very excited about the prospect of her napping in the crib instead of on the bed!
We took another trip to the store in the stroller, and Milo was pretty quiet and observant this time. No fussing or crying, but not much talking or playing either. Just looking around and kicking those feet.
Chase got home early and we made dinner together while Milo was napping, which was nice. We haven’t had time in the kitchen without Milo in a while, so it felt good to just be together like old times.
Notes:
Milo wakes up as soon as the white noise turns off (most of the time), which is why it’s so troublesome when the speaker shuts off during the night for no reason. Our replacement bluetooth speaker decided not to last the stated 15 hours (started shutting off after about 5-6 hours), so now we have to keep one plugged in all night, which is not ideal because it emits a light that might keep Milo awake. Also, it’s probably ruining the battery. But we do what we have to.
Chase and I made Milo’s room darker, so now I think it’s easier for her to get back to sleep when she wakes up at 5am.
Milo gives kisses (puts her mouth on my face) sometimes. I haven’t been able to get a photo yet because the camera distracts her, but I’m working on it.
She still tries to stand and let go of what she’s holding on to. Has done this 2-3 times and stayed up only a millisecond before having to grab on to something again. Daredevil.
