Lunch
misty · Wed, Feb 24, 2016For the second day in a row, Milo was happy to play on her own and didn’t need to be in my arms all the time. It is really refreshing when she feels confident enough to do this. She scooted around on the play mat, played at her little music station, and practiced staying up on her hands and knees quite a lot. I loved it.
She also had 2 2-hour naps today, which helped make for a happy girl. After her first long nap (which I shared with her), we went downtown to meet Chase for lunch, so Milo was (of course) happy to look around at everything. On the bus, she had a little staring contest with a man who was standing across from me. He was very nice about it, but I always feel the need to explain that she’s in this staring phase right now. (Do kids grow out of this phase?)
While at lunch, I managed to spill my whole drink on the table, bench, and myself without Milo’s help. So that was something.
This evening, Milo bounced on Chase’s lap a lot. She loves doing this. It’s like sit-stand-sit-stand in rapid succession, all while she’s happily smiling and cooing. Also, as we ate dinner, we gave her some mashed avocado so she could feel like she was eating with us. She didn’t put up much resistance as we fed her, so that was nice.
Notes:
Milo moved her arms and her knees forward today when on all fours. Still not quite crawling, but she’s making some movements.
I had some crazy back pain this evening, and I’m not sure why. It’s so intense, I had to take some ibuprofen, and I’m really hoping it goes away by morning.
