Sleep
misty · Tue, Feb 23, 2016Sleep last night was great. Milo’s in a streak of good nights, and Chase and I are feeling spoiled again. She woke for the first time at 5am, and then she woke at 6am and then slept until 8! It felt great.
Milo was much less clingy today. In fact, she spent a lot of time playing while sitting up and while on her tummy. She often pauses what she’s doing and looks over at me before continuing to play, which I find super sweet. I can certainly feel the love in those glances.
She also had good naps, which I was grateful for. I think I worry too much about her naps, but I know that sleep is so important for babies and their brain development, so I fret. But I should just trust that she’s going to get the sleep she needs because she’s been so good about it basically her whole existence so far.
Not much else to report today, except that Milo picked her arm up while on all fours, and that’s the first time she’s done that. She didn’t move it forward; she just reached out for me while on all fours, and she immediately laid down on her tummy after. But I was super excited.
Notes:
Good poop today, still very stinky, but she achieved it without any juice. So I think our prune juice days are behind us at this point.
Milo is on all fours all the time now, but still not much forward movement that way.
Milo’s tongue was out a lot today, but I’m wondering if it’s because of the little rash around her mouth - is she trying to scratch using her tongue because that’s the only way she knows how?
She still loves standing at the sofa; she doesn’t even reach for things on the couch most of the time - she just loves to stand there and sometimes bounce. It’s kind of weird, but I’m glad she likes the simple things.
Milo is mesmerized by Sophie all the time. Whenever Sophie moves around (which isn’t too often), Milo stops what she’s doing and focuses all of her attention on her.
When nursing, Milo is still distractible, but not like she used to be. She doesn’t often try to rip my nipple off to turn and look at things anymore, which I’m super pleased about.
