Wonderful Day

Wonderful day today. It began early, at around 6:30am when Milo woke up. Luckily, Chase let me sleep a bit longer, and while I was sleeping … Milo pooped! and Chase changed the diaper!! Awesome beginning to the day.

Milo, Chase, and I spent some time wrestling around on the bed (read: Milo crawling all over us), which is always a lot of fun. She’s so determined when she sees something she wants or somewhere she wants to get to! Today we baited her with our water bottle, and she reached it easily. She doesn’t drink the water anymore; she just likes to chew on the spout.

After a quick morning nap, we went to Zazie to have brunch with Joe and Emily, who are in town for a wedding. Zazie did not disappoint, and we even let Milo lick on an orange wedge. I think she liked it, though I couldn’t see her face.

We followed up brunch with a walk through Golden Gate Park and a trip into the de Young Museum tower. That tower is amazing; it was such a clear day, and we could see the whole city from up there. Milo was sleeping for most of it, though. We said goodbye to Joe and Emily there, and then Chase and I went to the Twirl and Dip truck to get a butterscotch cream soda float. Holy cow, that was delicious.

Milo then decided to have an epic stretch of awake time. She was awake from about noon until about 3:30, and then she napped for 40 minutes. So, today was not a good day for napping.

Tonight, dinner was a real treat. We made reservations at Fogo de Chão, and the food was every bit as delicious as we thought it would be. We even gave Milo a little treat tonight: a tiny bit of banana, another suck on an orange wedge, and several fingertips of mashed potatoes. On the way home we noticed that she has a little rash around her mouth, which we’re attributing to the orange. We’ll hold off on giving that to her again.

Bedtime was easy: since Milo had been awake from about 4:10 until 8:10, she was very ready for sleep. So, Chase and I got to watch a movie and chill out. What a wonderful day. We are exhausted.
