Rainy Day

Milo was up at 7 today, and we spent time playing together on the carpet. I was really eager for her to get a good nap in before our class today, and she did a pretty good job: she slept from about 9 until 10:20, which was better than just sleeping 30 minutes, right? Bright side.

We got to class early and talked to one of the other moms for just a while. Her baby had just learned to crawl, so it was very cute to see her wobbling on her hands and knees. She and Milo spent some time just looking at one another and smiling. Then class was good, as usual, and as a bonus, Milo fell asleep while I nursed her, no fuss. She only slept about 30 minutes, but at least she slept.

On the way home, Milo was very talkative and active. She didn’t do well on BART (especially the unexpected delay between stops), but our time on the bus and picking up lunch was great, despite the rain.

When Chase got home this evening, both he and I had eaten recently, so we weren’t terribly eager for dinner. We put together Milo’s new toy, and she played well at it. She wasn’t too fussy when we put her down for the night, and then Chase and I spent some time looking at houses and talking about the weekend.

Notes:

• I spend a lot of time these days watching Milo nap on the bed, and I absolutely love seeing her so calm and peaceful. It surprises me, though, just how much she moves during her sleep now. Often, she turns over several times or just moves her head to different positions. Sometimes this wakes her up, but often it doesn’t. And then, at the end of her naps, I just love the way she pops her head right up and looks around for me. Sometimes she cries or fusses a bit until I go over to her and talk to her a while, but even that is kind of sweet.
