Baby Bus Rider
misty · Tue, Feb 16, 2016Milo was up at 5:30 this morning, partially because Sophie started meowing when I was nursing at that hour. I was a bit angry (read: furious). We let Milo chill out in her crib watching her mobile for a while before we all got up for the day. We do that some days, and Milo seems fine with it. Her mobile has a little projector, which shows images of animals as the top spins. So she just looks up at it and coos for a while. We also heard the music change to animal sounds and back to music, so we’re pretty sure Milo was pushing buttons in there.
Because she was up so early, her first nap was at around 8am, which felt odd. Her naps haven’t been as good since she began sleeping on her own again, but I’m hoping she resumes sleeping for more than 45 minutes at a time during naps. The Wonder Weeks says that at this stage in her life, Milo is probably going to sleep worse because of new sensations, etc. So maybe in the next few weeks things will change.
I got to feeling pretty bad mid-morning, which was made more challenging because Milo wanted only to be in my arms to play. So it was not very fun trying to take care of myself and my girl at the same time. I even missed a nutrition class I’d been planning to attend, which made me feel awful.
In the afternoon, after I started feeling a bit better, Milo and I set out on a minor adventure. We went to mail a few things, and then we set off to buy some clothes from someone who listed them on Craigslist. It’s my favorite way to buy clothes for Milo because we usually get a pretty good deal for a large number of items. The bad news is that the clothes are mostly way too big, so they’ll have to be stored for a while.
On the bus, since I had Milo front-facing in the Ergo, she finally got up close to the bright yellow bars between seats. Several times Milo put her hand on mine, moved my hand away quite deliberately, and then put her hand on the bar to hold on. It was pretty cute.
Notes:
She ate sweet potatoes after her nap, and I think they’re her favorite so far. She didn’t protest at all while I tried to feed her.
Milo was very happy to see Chase this evening, who got home earlier than usual. It’s so nice to see how she smiles when he gets home.
Our girl was fussy tonight, probably because she was up so early this morning. But her bath time was super fun!
