Fusser
misty · Wed, Feb 3, 2016Milo was up early today. Luckily, we went to bed early, so it wasn’t terrible. She was super easy to handle this morning, but she became fussed in the afternoon for a while. I think the lack of pooping may be making her uncomfortable, as much of the fussing came during a bout of stinky farts.
I spent some time rubbing her tummy today, hoping it’ll lead to some output, and Milo was mostly ok with the massage. She just played with her toys and didn’t squirm much, which was a welcome surprise. But during the fussy time, she mostly just wanted to be held. So I spent some quality time holding my girl, though I did my best to encourage lots of movement.
Milo seemed to enjoy playing with some of her new toys today. I think the fussiness interfered with some of the fun, but she chewed on a great many things. The stand out favorite was a wooden giraffe that stands up on its own and is easy for her to grab and chew on. She especially loved it when I pretended that the giraffe was giving her kisses. She laughed nearly every time!
We played the mimic game a bit more today, and it made her talk so much. In the evening, I made a gasping sound (like I was surprised by something), and that made Milo laugh, too! She laughs more easily these days, and I love, love, love it.
Bedtime was easy. I’ve gotten less scared to put her down while she’s still awake because she’s shown that she can fall asleep on her own if she’s drowsy. So that’s something to feel good about.
Tonight, Chase and I continued our house hunt and had some dessert while Chase booked a room in Austin for our upcoming visit. A pretty relaxing evening, actually.
Notes:
Not much news on the crawling. She’s getting better at going backward, but she still insists on putting her face on the ground while pushing forward with her feet (not knees). She gets where she wants to go most of the time, but it’s not pleasant for her.
We finally gave her a little bit of prune juice today, so maybe we’ll see something tomorrow.
I worry that I kiss Milo too much. I just love giving her kisses. But she doesn’t always love it. So I might try to back off a little. Tiny bit.
